Just behind Kempock Street lies Granny Kempock’s Stone, which is a 6ft monolith that is believed to bring good luck to newlyweds and passing sailors who walk around it seven times.

Gourock's heated saltwater open-air pool, is a 10 minute walk along the promenade, and opens in spring each year and offers stunning day views and enchanting starlit swims. Gourock pool also has a state of the art gym with views across the Clyde.

Lunderston Bay is just a 6 minute drive away, or 15 minutes by bus, it a favorite of visitors, families, walkers and picnickers, and is the nearest sandy beach to Glasgow. The beach has a good mix of sand, pebbles and rocks, a play park and a large grass area. There is also a Garden centre here, with a cafe. Guests have even spotted some eeles from the beach.

Gourock Royal Yacht club is just a 2 minute stroll from the apartment, you can also see lots of their many yachts from the windows of the apartment.

Cloch Point Lighthouse is around 3 miles southwest of Gourock.

Beacon Arts Centre is a 14 minute drive away, or 28 minutes by bus. It is a contemporary theatre and arts centre with a range of shows, musicals, classical concerts and exhibitions throughout the year.

Dunoon, Rothesay, Kilcreggan, and Millport are all connected by three main ferry routes that offer convenient access to and from these picturesque locations.

The ferry via western Ferries from Gourock to Dunoon is only a few minutes walk from the apartment, and can be boarded as a passenger on foot or by car.

The ferry via Cal Mac from Gourock is 5 minutes away by car from the apartment or 9 minutes by bus, this is passenger only Ferry to Dunoon. Dunoon is the main resort on the Cowel Peninsula and the maritime gateway to the Loch Lomond & Troassachns National Park. Dunoon is built around the historic Castle Mound and is famours for its large Victorian Pier. A passenger Ferry also runs to Kilcreggan from here. Kilcreggan is located on the Rosneath Peninsula, it is beautiful pictureusque village with lots to explore whether you would like to take in the scenic views, walk some beautiful trails and kayak, paddle board or canoe.

The ferry via Cal Mac from Wemyss Bay is an 11 minute drive away from the apartment, or 17 minutes by bus. The ferry will take you to Rothesay, on the Isle of Bute. Rothesay is a smart Victorian seaside resort and includes sites such as Rothesay Castle and Bute Museum.

The ferry via Cal Mac from Largs is a 26 minute drive away or 33 minute bus ride, and will take you to Island of Millport. Millport is the capital of Cumbrae, it is a quirky seaside destination and possesses Britain's smallest Cathedral. Cumbrae is a also a paradise for cyclists, with a 10.25 mile circumference many like to hire a bike, tandem or family bike to explore the Island. While others opt to relax taking in the scenic views or even hire a Kayak or Paddle Board to explore the water.
